H.H. Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda awarded medal of the city Vienna

Today a Peace Tree Planting ceremony was led by renowned environmentalist and Ambassador for Peace, His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, author of the worldwide recognized system Yoga in Daily Life, and Vienna City Councillor for the Environment Ulli Sima, with invited local officials and community leaders, at the City Park of Vienna.

At this occasion His Holiness was awarded a silver medal of honour of the City of Vienna – with the image of the "Rathausmann", the city's landmark - for his long lasting merits for public health and world peace by the City Councillor.

In their speeches the representatives of the City of Vienna expressed their respect and gratefulness to Swamiji for spreading Yoga in Daily Life in Vienna for a healthy and natural lifestyle and for the benefit of all citizens.

The representative of the Indian Embassy in Vienna, Mr. Patnaik appreciated Swamiji's initiative of planting peace trees around the globe to remind people on their unity with nature and environment.

Swamiji recited the peace mantra and blessed the tree. He stated that this tree shall stand forever as a symbol for peace among religions, cultures and nations and all who are seeking comfort and relief shall find peace and harmony under his branches.
