His Holiness Swamiji met with the President of India
On May 22, 2006 His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji met with the President of India, His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in the President's office in New Delhi.
The President welcomed His Holiness Swamiji cordially with a basket of fruits. His Holiness Swamiji presented to the President several books: the “Lila Amrit”, Biography of Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji, written by His Holiness Hindu Dharmsamrat Paramhans Swami Madhavanandaji; as well as recent editions of his own books “Yoga in Daily Life - The System” and “The Hidden Powers in Humans - Kundalini and Chakras”. Swamiji also presented to the President two DVDs about his humanitarian activities and the very successful Rainwater Harvesting Initiative in OM Vishwa Deep Gurukul Swami Maheshwarananda Ashram.
Swamiji extended to the President an invitation to the “World Peace Summit - The Message of His Holiness Swami Madhavananda and Mahatma Gandhi” that will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on October 14, 2006. The President was very pleased to hear about promoting Mahatma Gandhi's message and Swamiji's efforts for World Peace; the environment; rainwater harvesting; multi-religious dialogues for tolerance, respect and understanding; education; protection of wild life etc.; whereby the President said, “Swamiji it is wonderful what you are doing. You have undertaken a very tough job, indeed.”
His Excellency, the President asked if world peace is possible through the many wars that are going on in order to achieve peace. Swamiji answered, “With weapons and wars one cannot achieve peace. Peace can be only achieved through love, tolerance, respect and understanding, as the ancient Indian wisdom such as Upanishads and Yoga philosophy are teaching”. The President fully agreed with this and extended his good wishes for Swamiji's future work. He also stated that he would be very interested to visit Swamiji's ashrams in Rajasthan and promised to come in the near future.
