The Radiant Light of Guru Tattva in New Zealand 2011
Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many blessings of Swamiji's loving presence in New Zealand. The light of yoga and the holy Siddha Peeth lineage of Sri Alakhpuriji continues to shine for the benefit of the whole world.
Swamiji visited our Yoga in Daily Life Ashram in Auckland and gifted our many students with practical jewels of wisdom for attaining Self Realisation. It was truly a blessing to be with Swamiji singing bhajans and in satsang, seva, prayer, meditation and devotion.
Swamiji's visit to Kapiti strengthened the connections between Swamiji, the Maori people of Aotearoa/New Zealand and the tipuna, or ancestors. Swamiji was welcomed to Swami Hariharananda Ashram with a powhiri, a traditional Maori welcoming ceremony, and children from Kapiti honored Swamiji with entertaining performances. Gurudeva spoke powerfully about the value of honoring our ancestors, calling on them for support and living according to their ancient values.
It was with much joy and excitement that we welcomed our beloved Swamiji to our National Retreat Centre land in the Akatarawa Valley, above the coastal town of Waikanae. Swamiji cut the ribbon on our third meditation hut and sounded the gong, sending the divine resonance of our lineage of yoga masters into the valley, towards the Tasman Sea. Afterwards, the heavens opened with a blessing of rain and Swamiji named the land Sri Devpuriji Ashram.
His Excellency Ian McKinnon, the Deputy Mayor of Wellington, and Lachlan Mckay, the International Ambassador for the World Parliament of Religions in NZ, were honored to welcome Swamiji to Wellington once more. Mr McKinnon and Mr Mckay were both touched by Swamiji's warm, heartful presence and spoke in support of Swamiji's messages of tolerance, peace and mutual understanding.
Our deepest gratitude to our beautiful Gurudeva, for shining the radiant light of love and truth in our hearts. We all move into our lives with fresh inspiration and clarity.
Gita, YIDL Kapiti
