First state visit of His Holiness Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda to Ex-Soviet state Ukraine

From June 4 - 7th 2004, Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji payed his first visit to Ex-Soviet State Ukraine. The visit was a great success, Swamiji found there a large audience eager to learn about yoga and the wisdom of healthy and peaceful living. Many high representatives of medical, cultural and political institutions welcomed Swamiji and expressed their readiness for further cooperation.

Spanish Embassies expressed gratitude to YIDL community

Several Spanish Embassies have sent letters of gratitude acknowledging expressions of sympathy they received from the "Yoga in Daily Life" community. Messages of condolence and letters of support for the people of Madrid, following the bomb attack on March 11 2004, were warmly accepted and appreciated.

Ambassador of India to Austria honours Swamiji and His work

His Excellency T. P. Sreenivasan, who was the Ambassador of India to Austria for the last three and a half years, is soon going to leave Austria to attend to other duites. Being a great admirer of Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji, he visited YIDL's international seminar in Vienna/Austria on June 19th 2004 to bid farewell to Swamiji and His disciples. At this occasion the Ambassador gave a beautiful and inspiring speech in which he thanked and hounoured Swamiji for His tireless spiritual, social and humanitarian efforts in Austria and world-wide.

Jadan's talab is ready for the rain!

Swamiji's great Rainwater Harvesting Project in Jadan (Rajasthan/India) is coming to a successful conclusion! The water basin, the talab, is nearly finished and awaiting rains to fill it! Jadan residents along with ashram's school children made prayers and pujas in talab and just minutes after that first clouds began to gather and rain started to pour heavily. Talab, being 140 meters long, 100 meters wide and 10 meters deep, was still only scarcely filled, but just enough to awake joy and hope in local people.

2004 Parliament of the World’s Religions, Barcelona/Spain

Nearly five months after the March 11, 2004 terrorist attack on Madrid, the world’s largest interreligious gathering will convene in Spain for the fourth ever Parliament and the first since September 11, 2001. The event — last held in Cape Town, South Africa in 1999 — will be in Barcelona from July 7 - 13 and is expected to draw thousands of people of faith and spirit from around the world to find inspiration and forge new pathways to peace in the new age of international terrorism.
